8th Annual
Women’s Yoga Retreat
With Debbie Ramelli and Leigha Nicole
Sept 29-Oct 2, 2005
Wellspring Renewal Center
Come celebrate yourself and the arrival of fall in the Anderson Valley. Nurture yourself and discover a deeper level of your yoga practice in the supportive company of friends old and new. Nourish yourself with time in nature and with gourmet vegetarian meals. Treat yourself to some skilled, relaxing bodywork. Enjoy the clean, cool swimming hole, the bountiful organic garden, hiking amongst old-growth redwoods, or simply taking a nap on the porch of your cabin.
There will be a variety of daily yoga classes offered to suit students of varying experience and interest. In the morning, take your choice of a traditional Mysore-style Astanga Vinyasa practice or an invigorating guided class suitable for beginning and intermediate students. Afternoon classes will focus on technique, questions and answers, restorative practice, and meditation.
These classes will be rounded out with other activities together, such as hikes, mendhi (henna tattoos), and evenings together around the fire, as well as time for solitude, introspection, napping, or a soothing massage. Every fall we look forward to harvesting heirloom apples from the garden and making fresh cider on the old-fashioned press.
Wellspring is a rustic retreat center in the tiny town of Philo (Mendocino County). There are accommodations available in charming cabins, as well as the possibility of camping in a large meadow above the river. Some cabins have bathrooms; for the other cabins as well as campers, there’s a bathhouse with flush toilets and hot showers. All cabins have beds, woodstoves, electricity, and porches for relaxing. There are plenty of other places to relax-the old farmhouse living room, a cozy library, a big redwood deck shaded by a massive oak tree, and peaceful spots in the gardens.

Our retreat begins on Thursday afternoon, with check-in after 3p.m., and a yoga practice at 5:30, followed by dinner and an opening circle. We’ll wind down with morning yoga, brunch, and a closing circle on Sunday, departing in the early afternoon. We encourage you to come for three nights so you’ll really have time to settle in and unwind, but we recognize this isn’t possible for everyone, so we are also offering a 2-night option.
Prices listed below include shared accommodations, 3 meals daily, activities, and 2 yoga classes daily.
Three nights: $445 cabin, $380 rustic cabin, $325 camping.
Two nights: $340 cabin, $290 rustic cabin, $250 camping.
Please register by August 15th by contacting Debbie Ramelli at dramelli@hotmail.com or Leigha Nicole at (415)289-7995. A $100 deposit per person will hold your space. Full payment is due by September 1. After that time, should your plans change, refunds will be issued, minus the $100 registration fee, only if we can find another person to fill your space.
We’re available to answer any questions you have about the retreat. We hope you can join us for this special weekend!
Leigha Nicole has been teaching yoga since 1984, and taught at Yoga Works in Los Angeles since its inception in 1987. Her extensive and thorough knowledge of anatomy stems from a fifteen year bodywork practice. She has studied repeatedly in India with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois since 1992. Her primary teacher in the west is Tim Miller.
Debbie Ramelli offers group and private yoga classes and retreats in the S.F. Bay Area, and she is a student of holistic nutrition at Bauman College. She has been teaching since 1996, and her training includes in-depth studies of Iyengar yoga with Ramanand Patel; Astanga Vinyasa yoga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Maty Ezraty and Chuck Miller; Teacher Training and apprenticeship at Yoga Works of Santa Monica; and studies of philosophy and pranayama with Dr. Shankaranarayana Jois. Debbie’s teaching reflects her deep respect and appreciation for the transformative power of yoga and for her students. Her instruction is detailed, clear, and individualized to each student’s needs, and encourages the creation of a dynamic balance of effort and surrender.
