“Emma” returns to TheatreWorks

Dear friends,

Ken’s and my favorite musical is returning to TheatreWorks: Jane Austen’s Emma. And we’d like to share it with you.

Info from the TheatreWorks’ web site:
TheatreWorks’ beloved musical hit makes a triumphant return for the holidays, featuring one of Jane Austen’s most delightful heroines, an effervescent ingénue whose matchmaking mischief inevitably misfires. Obsessed with romance, but clueless about her own feelings, Emma navigates the course of true love with a generous heart and an indomitable spirit. A masterpiece brought to joyous life, this funny, irresistible revival features a glorious score by the Tony Award-nominated composer of Jane Eyre and Daddy Long Legs.

A sample of the music: (top four audio clips), and (top two audio clips on the left of the page: The epiphany is when Emma realizes she is in love with Mr. Knightly. “So This is How Love Feels” is when she thinks she might be in love with Frank Churchill.

Emma plays from December 2 through January 2. We propose two different dates, at which, because you are part of a larger group (Baskin/Krechmer Theatre Party) you will get a 25% discount on seats (and all other fees waived):
Tuesday December 29 at 7:30 pm (pricing: $52.50 for an Adult, $42.75 for a Senior or Educator, and $27.00 for anyone age 30 or younger)
Saturday January 2 at 2 pm (pricing: $56.25 for an Adult, $49.50 for a Senior or Educator, and $32.25 for anyone age 30 or younger)

We chose these dates because the best seats are still available. The shows are selling fast, but we have reserved ten good seats on both dates.

To obtain one or more of these tickets: Please call 650-463-7181. Or email to reach the same folks. You must tell them that you would like the seats held for Baskin/Krechmer to get this pricing. And then, tell Ken and me that you are coming!

If you can’t make either of those two dates: please feel free to get tickets for any other date (see for all the dates). TheatreWorks has graciously offered our group discount for any date if you tell them you are part of the Baskin/Krechmer group. But since they are selling fast, do it sooner rather than later.

We are so excited to see this production with you.

Elaine & Ken
